A 3% commission is charged on the total value of your purchase or sale. The commission is only due once we have received the funds from the buyer and the wine from the seller. For sales, we retain the commission fee during the payout of the sale price. There is no fee or commission for placing bids to buy or offers to sell. Please see an example scenario below.

If you purchase or sell a wine for £1,000, the commission would be £30. The 3% commission charge is subject to VAT, so the total commission would be £36.

Yes, however, they must already be stored in a UK or EU bonded tax warehouse, and in perfect condition as per our terms & conditions. Each case of wine is subject to a thorough inspection at our warehouse prior to settlement. The photos and comments from the inspection will be uploaded to your account for you to see.

We highly recommend transferring your wines to a private account with BordeauXchange at London City Bond prior to selling them. Unfortunately, there have been numerous occassions where wines have been delivered for sale, only to discover upon inspection that they do not meet the condition requirements.

In the event that this happens to you, you will be unable to sell wines on BordeauXchange in the future, unless they are already in storage with us.

If the wine involved in the trade is already in storage with BordeauXchange, settlement can be as quick as 24 hours. If the wine needs to be delivered to our storage facility, settlement is generally within 14 days.
